My name is Michael O’Connell. In 2017 I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. I had been loosing weight for some months so it wasn’t a great surprise. I had other symptoms for a few years but didn’t realise that they were signs of diabetes. It was only after I was diagnosed and began learning about it that I realised that they were symptoms. Since then I’ve been learning to live with and understand about it.

I this blog I hope to pass on what I have learned about diabetes, and to continue finding out more. Hopefully this will be of use to others who suffer from both type 2 and type 1 diabetes.

This blog does not contain any medical advice. If you have diabetes or suspect that you may have, go to a doctor. I know now that i had diabetes for several years before I sought medical assessment and it was heading out of control by then. Luckily, there was no serious damage done and I’m managing it adequately.

There’s an old saying that; ‘if it quacks like a duck and it waddles like a duck, then it’s a duck’. if you have some of the classic symptoms of diabetes, then you may have diabetes, so get it seen to. If you get it diagnosed early then you may be able to control by the correct diet and exercise.
